Is Panelet a window manager?
Not quite. Window managers snap or tile individual windows one at a time. Panelet works a level up — it groups the whole apps you use together into a persistent workspace that moves, resizes, and reflows as one. So you arrange a workspace, not windows.
Is Panelet safe to install?
Yes. Panelet is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple — Apple has verified the developer's identity, and every release is scanned before macOS allows it to run.
Why isn't Panelet on the Mac App Store?
The Mac App Store sandbox forbids apps from managing other apps' windows — which is exactly what Panelet does. A notarized, direct download is the only way Apple allows a tool like this to ship, so that's how Panelet is distributed.
Why does Panelet need Accessibility permission?
macOS only lets an app move or resize other apps' windows through the Accessibility API, so Panelet needs it to arrange your workspace. It's used purely for window position and size — Panelet never reads your screen contents, keystrokes, or data.
Which apps does it work with?
Most standard Mac apps. Today Panelet manages one main window per app; support for multiple windows of the same app is on the way.
Does it work across multiple displays?
Yes. You can move a workspace to whichever display you're working on, and Panelet keeps its apps arranged there.
How do updates and licensing work?
